The College of Health Sciences is dedicated to the education of health care professionals who serve the people of Louisiana and beyond. The College is comprised of two schools, the School of Allied Health and the Kitty DeGree School of Nursing, that offer degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) faculty and students visited Lafayette, La. for the annual American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) of Louisiana and Mississippi 2025 Bi-State Annual Meeting from March 16-19. Twenty-four MLS students represented º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ at the conference.
On March 6 and 7, 2025, the University of Louisiana Monroe College of Health Sciences faculty, in collaboration with St. Francis Medical Center and the Ouachita Council on Aging, conducted two days of training for community members and healthcare providers on best practices in dementia care.
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has named Dr. Michael Callhan as the Director of the Kitty DeGree School of Nursing (KDSON). Callihan began in the role in the Fall 2024 semester. He comes to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ after most recently working as an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Callihan has also worked as an assistant professor at Miami University (Ohio), Auburn University, and the University of Alabama, as well as a nurse in a variety of medical settings.
