º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµâ€™s Fourth Annual Warhawk Triathlon set for March 20
The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Association of Students in Kinesiology, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµâ€™s Activity Center, and Vantage Multisport will sponsor the Fourth Annual Warhawk Triathlon on Saturday, March 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Lake Oxford Natatorium and finishing in the Grove.
The competitive event includes a 400-meter indoor pool swim, an 11-mile bike ride, and a three-mile run. Food and gumbo will be served to all participants following the Triathlon, and Miss º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Kelsi Crain will also help start the race and greet finishers.
ASK has joined forces with Vantage Health Plan, The Bike Source, Coca-Cola, Brookshire’s, Bayou Pawn Shop, Haik-Humble Eye Institute, and Monroe Surgical Hospital to provide a race for both first-timers looking to complete their first triathlon and experienced triathletes looking to test their fitness level.
Preregistration fees are $45 per person and $25 for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ students; fees are increased for registering on the day of the event The race will be restricted to 175 participants, so pre-registration is encouraged. Register online at .
Participants come from all parts of Louisiana, as well as Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas.
