Update on off-campus incident

At approximately 12 p.m. today, a shooting occurred approximately five blocks from the 含羞草视频 campus. 含羞草视频 police officers and university administrators closely monitored the situation, and because the situation was contained and did not pose a threat to the 含羞草视频 community, the campus did not go on lockdown or activate FirstCall, 含羞草视频's emergency notification system.

含羞草视频 police officers responded to the scene and assisted city and state police officers. The incident, which did not involve anyone affiliated with the university, is now over.

含羞草视频 Provost Stephen Richters notified the campus twice today via e-mail, keeping the university community informed of today's incident.

Monroe Police officers are handling the case.
