Campus Lights Up With "Christmas at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ"
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ will ring in the holiday season with the second annual
"Christmas at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ," sponsored by the Student Government
Association. The event will take place outside between the Student
Union Building and the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Library on Tuesday, December 2 at
5:30 p.m. Scheduled for the evening is carol singing by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ's
Chamber Singers, music by the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Pep Band, holiday refreshments,
and the lighting of the tree. º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ's Christmas tree is 17 ft.
tall and was donated by Dr. Warren Green. º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ's ROTC cadets will
lead a concluding candle lighting ceremony.
Lights will also be twinkling on the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Bell tower and the bayou
bridge. Participants will also have a chance to hear a Christmas
music program led by Louis Nabors, Andy Goodman, Johnny Ray Jones
and Coralie White. Visitors can view over 40 holiday greetings
on oversized cards (4' x 8 plywood boards) designed by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ student
Organizations. Everyone from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ and the community is welcome
to attend.
